Founding Advisor | Progress Toronto
Hasina Jamal is Founding Advisor of Progress Toronto. Hasina is a social researcher and health care expert. She discovered her passion for Public Health 10 years ago during an internship in India, researching gender, migration, and access to healthcare for migrants.
Hasina has a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Alberta and continues her research on marginalized migrant populations. She recently partnered with the African Black Diaspora Network on HIV by developing a web resource on the impacts of migration on HIV acquisition.
Hasina’s interest in the health of refugee, immigrant and marginalized populations led her to be a member of the Board of Directors of Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services and volunteer with the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT). Hasina would like to spend 2018 ensuring progressive candidates are elected to City Council.
