Together, we’re making history!

What an election! On Monday October 26, Toronto re-elected Olivia Chow as our Mayor by a 13-point margin, with over half a million votes—more than any mayor in our city’s history.

And we won big on council too, helping to elect more progressives across the city, including our three new Progressive Champions:
✅ Diana Chan McNally, Parkdale—High Park
✅ Sara Ehrhardt, Toronto—Danforth
✅ Chiara Padovani, York South–Weston

From Etobicoke to Scarborough, Toronto rejected cynical, divisive politics. Voters chose hopeful leadership that builds affordable housing, protects tenants, improves transit, and expands public services.

Together, we helped deliver a mandate to be bolder, invest more deeply in public services, and keep building a more affordable Toronto. These next four years are critical—that's why our work is just getting started.

Monday’s wins didn’t happen overnight. Over the past eight years, alongside volunteers and supporters like you, we’ve been building toward a city that invests in its communities and public services.

We’ve run dozens of issue-based campaigns mobilizing tens of thousands of people, influenced council on key issues, pushed back against Doug Ford, and won real change to build a Toronto that serves all of us.

Each campaign builds on the last, and the results in this year’s election prove that our model is working.

We’ve proven what sustained organizing can achieve. Now, we have a unique opportunity to win on the issues that matter most: housing, affordability, transit, the climate crisis, and more.

That’s why I’m asking for your support now, as we plan for the next four years and work to deliver on the strong mandate we've given to City Hall. There's so much more left to do to pass progressive policy at council and organize against Ford's disastrous impact on our city.

Now, thanks to your support and hard work Toronto elected one of the most progressive city councils in recent memory. Thank you for all of your contributions!

With just $25,000 for our city-wide third-party advertising campaign, we made strategic choices that helped defeat several conservative-backed candidates. We now have City Councillors and Trustees who are renters and transit riders, just like many of us. They bring a sense of urgency on the issues that matter most, and we're excited to work on what comes next.

Over the past month, 359 Progress Toronto volunteers prepared and hand-delivered 74,000 flyers to every corner of our city. Our digital content reached over 1.2 million people and gained over 8 million views.

We strategically organized and communicated what progressives on Council have won over the past three years, and illustrated what would be at stake if conservatives won the election. This helped mobilize and turn out hundreds of thousands of voters to deliver a historic victory.

Our work is powered by small donations from people like you. And we’re honoured that so many people share their hard-earned income with us, and we make every dollar count.

If you are able, please chip in to support our work so we can keep building power and winning. The most meaningful and impactful donation you can give is a small monthly contribution. A big thank you to our monthly donors who sustain our work. If you aren't already a monthly donor, please consider starting a monthly gift today.

These victories have given our team, our volunteers, and residents across the city a renewed sense of hope for the future of Toronto.

It’s been an inspiring and historic campaign, one that thousands of people across the city worked very hard on. It’s heartening to reflect on all we've built since 2018; and while we have accomplished a lot, there is still much more to do.

Thank you for organizing with us. Thank you for voting progressive, for signing petitions, speaking out to advocate for change, for donating, and for volunteering your time.

Thank you for your commitment to our city,

Saman Tabasinejad
