Alex Mazer is a Founding Advisor of Progress Toronto. Alex is co-founder of Common Wealth, a mission-driven company focused on expanding access to retirement security. Passionate about building financial security for all, Alex has been involved in a number of efforts to build a more inclusive Toronto, including co-founding Better Budget TO, serving on the board of FoodShare, and running for City Council in 2014.
Previously, Alex worked as a management consultant at McKinsey and for some of Canada's top pension funds, and served as Director of Policy to Ontario's finance minister from 2009-12. He holds degrees from Harvard Law School, the University of Toronto, and McMaster University. He feels lucky to live in the amazing Christie Pits neighbourhood with his partner, Attiya Khan, a filmmaker and activist against domestic violence, and their son.
