To: Residents of Toronto
From: Concerned Members of the Beaches–East York Community
Dear Toronto,
We are residents of Beaches-East York. We love our beautiful community, and we love our city.
For the past 8 years, Brad Bradford has served as our city councillor. Although he was promised to us as someone with “fresh ideas”, “fresh energy”, and a “strong work ethic”, Brad’s performance as our city councillor has been lackluster at best.
Whether it’s flip-flopping on important issues like policing or active transportation, ignoring his constituents, or failing to stand up to Doug Ford’s constant meddling in our city, Brad has simply not lived up to his promise. We have seen first-hand how, over the last 8 years, Brad has been unable to provide an acceptable level of service or representation for the 109,000+ members of our Beaches-East York community. We are very concerned that he will simply not be able to care for 3 million Torontonians. Brad doesn’t deserve a promotion.
For the last 8 years, Beaches-East York residents have been represented by someone who has neglected our community in favour of building his own profile city-wide to achieve his own political ambitions. Brad has failed, on many occasions, to respond to the needs of constituents, including families with young children, to address serious local issues, and to listen to our concerns.
Here are just two examples of how Brad Bradford has failed our community, yet they speak to broader issues related to accountability, communication, and compassion. These are all crucial skills necessary for someone who wants to lead Canada’s largest city.
A Community Without Water for Days
In the midst of the 2023 Mayoral Campaign, more than 10,000 members of our community were left without water. Unfortunately, our councillor failed to support the community until days later.
Sewage Spill in Taylor Creek,
A large sewage spill invaded one of our riding’s largest parks in August 2025. Despite community members raising concerns, and a horrific odour that pervaded through the local area, Brad’s office failed to connect with constituents for roughly 72 hours (despite being emailed and tagged in social media posts). As a community, we have failed to receive comprehensive follow-up regarding potential downstream impacts of this spill, nor reassurances about better communication in the future.
As concerned Beaches–East York residents, we urge Torontonians to reject Brad Bradford. It is important to note that, when given the chance to vote for Brad for Mayor in 2023, he came in 8th place in our riding. Brad has chosen to focus on his own agenda, rather than on the needs of the community he was elected to serve. If he couldn’t serve us as city councillor, then he sure won't serve us well as mayor.
Undersigned,
Beaches–East York residents
