Jennifer Volk
Your Progressive Champion for TDSB Trustee in Toronto—Danforth and Spadina—Fort York (TDSB Ward 5) is Jennifer Volk. Jennifer is a long time advocate for public education locally and across the city.
Jennifer has been active on school councils for the past 14 years since her child was in junior kindergarten. She championed Save Our Pools campaigns when local pools were threatened with closure by working with schools to push back. Over the past four years she’s worked with outgoing TDSB trustee, Sara Ehrhardt, to push back against Ford’s attacks on schools.
She will advocate to end Ford’s supervision of the TDSB, build networks across the ward and alongside trustees to better fight for proper education funding, and to champion programs like school meals that give every child a fair chance to learn. Progress Toronto will be getting the word out about Jennifer and encouraging people to elect her as the next TDSB Trustee.

About Jennifer from her website: I'm running to be your TDSB School Trustee for Ward 5 Toronto-Danforth / Spadina-Fort York because I care about the future of our public schools.
I have been a long time advocate for public education in our area and across the city. I have worked in my local schools to build community while joining with others across the city to advocate for public education. I have brought awareness about the value of public education by organizing rallies and walk-ins, championing numerous Save Our Pools campaigns, and building education advocacy networks.
When elected school trustee I will continue to advocate to end supervision of the board, bring community voice back to decision making and properly fund our schools.
I believe in listening to the community and working with all stakeholders to improve education for our kids
I believe we can stop the damage to our education system, and build our schools into what we know they can be: safe, stable and caring learning environments where students and the school community can thrive
I have the skills needed to work collaboratively with community and with elected trustees to re-establish a strong governing school board
