Make Calls for Shelter Support

The weather is getting colder and our shelter systems are at capacity. Each night 320 people get turned away from our shelters, and 133 are refugees. That’s why we’re pushing the federal government to step up and support refugees.

Volunteer to make calls (also called phone-banking) to demand adequate funding to support refugees and asylum seekers. We will be speaking to residents across the city and helping them take action. The Ontario government recently committed to providing $200 million every year for three years in shelter and homelessness prevention.

The federal government needs to feel the pressure to step up and deliver funding to help house and support newly-arrived refugees and asylum seekers so we can ensure everyone in Toronto has a safe place to live.

All our phonebanks will be held online through Zoom. A link will be sent to you after you sign up.
