Support our Progressive Champion for Scarborough—Rouge Park
Neethan Shan
Progress Toronto is encouraging Scarborough—Rouge Park residents to vote for city council candidate Neethan Shan. Neethan is the strongest progressive choice in this race. For more than 20 years, he has served Scarborough as a teacher, Toronto District School Board Trustee (since 2022), TDSB Chair, and previously as a City Councillor. Neethan has been a strong advocate for public education, affordable housing, child care, recreation programs, youth and senior programs, public services, and good jobs for Scarborough. He is the progressive champion we need at City Hall.
Progress Toronto will be working hard to get voters to the polls for Neethan on September 29.
This is our chance to elect another progressive voice in Scarborough. With only 26 members on Toronto City Council, this by-election is an important opportunity not only to win a seat but also to build a stronger progressive coalition and win on important issues at City Hall! Why should you care about this by-election?
The stakes are high both locally and across our city, as the September 29 by-election in Scarborough—Rouge Park approaches.
Together, we have been slowly shifting Toronto City Council away from its rightward direction. Finally, we are seeing historic investments in affordable housing, transit, and public services. But conservatives are gearing up to take back power.
The outcome of this by-election could alter the balance on City Council. We can either secure more ambitious progressive wins or give momentum to conservatives for the remainder of this term.
