Re-Elect
Olivia Chow for Mayor

Olivia Chow is the best and most progressive choice for mayor of Toronto, and Progress Toronto is proud to support her re-election.

After 13 years of conservative mayors and attacks from Doug Ford, our city was left with ~$2 billion in debt, underfunded transit, and deteriorating services [1]. Olivia got to work and made tough decisions to get our city back on track.

In less than three years, Olivia’s delivered: the Scarborough Busway built in record time, stronger protections for tenants, and new investment in transit and city services. [See what Olivia's delivered below]

By re-electing Mayor Chow and electing more progressives to council, we can win even more: more affordable housing, faster transit, and a city that invests in our communities and Toronto’s future.

If conservatives like Brad Bradford win, we'll be back on the defense. We’ll need to fight to protect what we've won. And City Hall will go back to delivering for developers and corporate insiders.

Let’s re-elect Olivia Chow, and defeat conservatives! Find out where to vote October 6-11 and October 26.

Wins under a Chow Administration—there’s more to do:

  • Addressing the housing crisis

    • the city is a public-builder again; building thousands of affordable and rent-controlled homes

    • helping nonprofit housing corporations purchase existing affordable housing that are at risk of being converted to luxury condos

    • investing in the social medicine housing model and built over 1,099 supportive homes and there are 678 under construction with hundreds more in the pipeline to help people experiencing homelessness secure stable homes [2]

  • For renters

    • funding eviction prevention programs

    • passed a Renovictions Bylaw that effectively eliminated all renovictions (according to advocates) [3]

    • introduced and expanded the AC program [4]

  • For transit riders

    • increased bus, subway, and streetcar service after years of cuts [5]

    • no TTC fare increases since 2023

    • new Scarborough Busway providing rapid transit to 100,000 passengers weekly [6]

  • For families

    • all 100 library branches open 7-days-a-week with expanded hours

    • extended pool hours to keep our city cool

    • school meals expanded to all 325,000 students, saving families $900 a year

    • Invested in youth violence prevention, recreation and jobs, and youth violence has fallen 40% [7]

  • For city services

    • expansion of non-police crisis services to address mental health crises

    • building more shelters to address homelessness

    • 911 wait times are 94% faster, down to on average 3 seconds [8]
