Across the province, we are witnessing a rise in anti-democratic, anti-worker motions and statements being made by elected officials in response to peaceful and lawful protests. These actions limit our Charter Rights and Freedoms and have devastating impacts on our right to protest and picket.

The Toronto and York Region Labour Council passed a motion on Thursday April 4, 2024 calling on City Council to protect everyone’s freedom of assembly and expression.
