Who really is Daniel Tate and what’s at stake in Toronto Centre?
Daniel Tate is running for City Council in Toronto Centre, and he’s hoping voters don’t find out about his record. From sharing homophobic content to target the most vulnerable people in our city, Tate offers no solutions and exploits our neighbours for views. That’s why we’re working hard to let voters know the truth about Daniel Tate before October 26. Help us reach voters by volunteering.
Tate’s Record
Tate is the founder of IntegrityTO, a right-wing group that has spent the past year spreading misinformation and targeting the most vulnerable people in our city. If Tate gets elected, he will have the power to push through dangerous policies at City Hall. He’ll also have a bigger platform to spread his toxic politics and embolden right-wing movements in our city.
Too many voters don’t know Tate’s record and where he stands. He is pretending to be a moderate when his record says the opposite. Read more below to learn.
Here are just a few examples of Tate’s harmful politics through his role at IntegrityTO:
Attacked the public library for having a children’s book titled “The GayBCs” saying the city is “using taxpayer dollars to indoctrinate children with confusing gender ideology is disturbing”. Toronto Centre is home to one of the largest 2SLGBTQ+ communities in the country, and Tate has made it clear he won’t stand up for them. [1]
Films and mocked unhoused people and people struggling with addiction in our neighbourhoods for content—using his platform to hound our most vulnerable neighbours instead of offer help and advocate for evidence-based solutions. [2]
Attacks homelessness and encampments but offers no plan for where people are supposed to go. [3] Clearing encampments doesn’t house anyone. It just moves people from park to park. We need real solutions to our problems, not clickbait.
Creates AI-generated videos of his opponents to attack them. Tate has defended the practice as fair game. [4] He has created AI videos that have the mayor and city officials saying statements they aren’t.
Supports Doug Ford’s removal of bike lanes [5] and will help push Ford’s policies on council.
