Volunteer to Prevent Evictions and Improve Transit in 2026

City Council votes on the 2026 City Budget on February 10—this is our opportunity to win increased investments in programs that prevent evictions, support renters, and improve transit. To win, we need people across Toronto to take action to protect the funding for renter protections, affordable housing and the TTC. Here are three ways you can volunteer to help:

1) Knock on doors inside apartment buildings (and out of the cold) to talk to renters.

2) Make calls at home to help people to take action and protect the investments in the budget.

3) Talk to transit riders inside subways stations.

We will be helping residents across Toronto contact the Mayor and their local Councillor to approve supports for renters and increase services that make life more affordable. Join us to help residents take action on the 2026 City Budget:

Accessibility Information

If you have any access needs, please let us know at the bottom of the sign up form. Access needs are defined as anything a person may need to communicate, learn, and take part in an activity.

Phone banking requires using a computer and having conversations with the public for multiple hours. Canvassing requires walking, climbing stairs, and standing for roughly two hours.

We are implementing disability justice in our framework and are constantly learning and growing. If you have any questions, suggestions, or need any further information, please reach out to us at volunteer@progresstoronto.ca.
