Volunteer for a Progressive Toronto
We are in an important moment for our city. Provincially, Doug Ford’s government is passing legislation that makes life harder and more unaffordable. This year is also a municipal election year. Local conservative politicians and groups are organizing to stop the progress we’ve made on transit, housing, and city services and return Toronto back to the status quo of cuts and underfunding.
We can’t let that happen. To hold conservatives accountable and build a more progressive city, we need to be out talking to as many people as possible. Join us to talk to people across Toronto about issues that matter to them and help them take action.
Here are two ways you can volunteer to help:
1) Knock on doors inside apartment buildings (and out of the cold) to talk to renters.
2) Make calls at home to help people to take action.

Never door knocked before? Don’t worry! We will give you support, training, and pair you with an experienced volunteer.
For the online phone banks you will need access to a computer and, if possible, headphones to make the calls. If this is your first time phone banking with us, we will provide a quick training on Callhub (our online phone bank tool).
Accessibility Information
If you have any access needs, please let us know at the bottom of the sign up form. Access needs are defined as anything a person may need to communicate, learn, and take part in an activity.
Phone banking requires using a computer and having conversations with the public for multiple hours. Door knocking requires walking, climbing stairs, and standing for roughly two hours.
We are implementing disability justice in our framework and are constantly learning and growing. If you have any questions, suggestions, or need any further information, please reach out to us at volunteer@progresstoronto.ca.
