Building Power in the East

Scarborough Training + Social

Are you passionate about creating change in Scarborough, but don’t know where to start? Well you’re in luck!

Progress Toronto and the Scarborough Environmental Association (SEA) are teaming up to host Building Power in the East, a half day in-person training on August 23, and we want you to come! Join organizers, volunteers, and supporters in Scarborough to learn how to grow progressive power and help build on the work that's already been done.

Decisions being made at City Hall impact communities across the city. That’s why it’s important to learn strategies in mobilizing local residents to ensure the city better supports racialized, working class, and new Canadian communities in Scarborough.

Join on Saturday Aug 23 at the Scarborough Civic Centre to learn from organizers at Progress Toronto and SEA on how you can shape who holds power and advance issues you care about. Stay after the training to meet and connect with other progressives committed to organizing in Scarborough and beyond!

Sign up if you’re interested in learning:

  • Strategies in how to win on important issues that impact Scarborough

  • Tactics to bring people together on shared values

  • Mobilizing your friends, families, and neighbours on issues  you care about
