Unelect Frances Nunziata
It’s a tight race between Progressive Champion Chiara Padovani and longtime conservative Frances Nunziata. That’s why in York South—Weston, we are working hard to make sure residents know that on October 26, they should not vote for Frances Nunziata. Help us out by volunteering.
Frances Nunziata’s Record
First elected in 1988 (that’s right…1988!) Frances Nunziata has been in office for almost 39 years and it’s time for a change. Residents of York South—Weston deserve a strong advocate at City Hall who will be focused on improving services and opportunities.
Support for Nunziata is declining. In 2022, Nunziata only won by 94 votes against Chiara. It’s time for change in York South—Weston and this election is our chance.
Frances Nunziata voted to:
Make it harder for new developments to have affordable housing by trying to narrow the application of inclusionary zoning [1]
Against the “public builder” model for five sites of a new housing strategy that would help build more not-for-profit affordable housing [2]
Not cap vehicle-for-hire licenses to help protect workers from exploitative workplace practices [4]
Increase user fees[5] for recreation programs making it harder for kids to access city facilities
Delay and stop action on desperately needed road safety measures[6]
Cut bus service, increase TTC fares, and voted against increasing TTC service[8]
Stop the addition of youth spaces and youth hubs[9]
Prevent urgent action on affordable housing to build more sooner[10]
Cut funding for and prevent investments in renter supports[11]
Prevent needed work to deal with flooding and extreme weather events[12]
Stop the expansion of hundreds of affordable child care spaces[14]
Stop better access to park washrooms[15]
Block action on climate change[16]
And these are just some of Frances Nunziata’s most troubling votes.
We need to raise $25,000 for our third party campaign to print flyers and make sure voters know about Nunziata in York South—Weston. Can you chip in $15?
