Conservatives like Doug Ford are making it harder for renters to live in Toronto. They are passing laws to make it easier to evict people and trying to strip away protections for renters—in the middle of a housing crisis.
The good news is that renters are organizing and fighting back with their neighbours for affordable, stable, and decent housing.
We are excited to team up again with Chiara Padovani from the York South—Weston Tenant Union to share the basics of tenant organizing. Chiara has been instrumental in educating, organizing, and advocating for renters across Toronto. She has mobilized renters to force landlords to do long-needed repairs, defend against wrongful evictions and resist unfair rent increases through successful actions like rent strikes.
Come learn from Chiara on Wednesday, April 15 at 6:30PM. She will be sharing her experiences, the power of bringing neighbours together, and how you can get involved in organizing renters to win.
