Toronto City Council committed to creating 2,000 units of supportive housing annually to help address chronic homelessness experienced by thousands. But $27.6 million is still missing to fully fund them. The City says they’re waiting for the Province to fund the supportive services (like mental health and harm reduction supports), leaving 2,000 supportive housing units in limbo. If Premier Ford doesn’t include the funding then City Council needs to so that 2,000 units of supportive housing are created without delay.

Sign our petition: The Mayor and Councillors vote on the City Budget February 17. Tell them you support ending library fines and opening up access to the library system for thousands of people being denied services because of outstanding fines. Learn more and take action here.

That means we have less than three weeks to push City Council to approve a progressive 2022 budget that prioritizes affordable housing, community services, safe roads, and *not* the police. Half of this workshop will be a training where you will become familiar with our online phone bank tool and how to move people to action, and in the second half of the workshop you will get a chance to put your new skills to practice and phone bank people across our city to take action.
