When we heard that Ford might use a wonky parliamentary trick to curb the democratic process and fast-track his bill to slash Toronto City Council in half—we knew we had to do something.
Ford’s shady tactics to takeover Toronto City Hall continue.
Without consultation or warning, and in the middle of the election, he tabled a bill to slash city council in half— an autocratic-style power-play to make it easier for him to control City Hall. And just yesterday, in a move that some have never seen before in the history of Queen’s Park, he simply refused to answer questions about the bill.
In less than five hours, Conservative MPPs are meeting to discuss Ford’s plan to fast-track legislation that would slash Toronto city council in half. This legislation represents a massive abuse of power and will make it easier for Ford to ram his unpopular agenda through at City Hall.
We’re hearing rumours that Ford’s trying to pass this into law in a matter of days — without even letting it go to committee for review.

Doug Ford is Premier of Ontario and, like us, you’re probably not feeling so great today.
We have work to do. Premier Ford means our 2018 city council and school board elections are more important than ever. Will you commit to voting for progress in Toronto’s elections this fall? progresstoronto.ca/yes
Make no mistake: Doug Ford will have his eyes on electing conservative candidates to city hall and the school board in Toronto.
But the silver lining of last night's election results is that Progressives won in Toronto.
Over 738,000 of the votes cast in Toronto were votes against Doug Ford. That means 2 in 3 Torontonians voted for someone other than Doug. More than 400,000 people voted for the NDP, more than 287,000 for the Liberals, and 33,000 for the Greens. Ford received little more than 359,000 votes.
If we band together we can elect more progressive champions for our city than ever before to protect us from what Doug Ford has planned for Toronto.
