Speaking at Budget Committee can feel intimidating—that’s why we’re offering a workshop to help you get prepared. On Sunday, January 18 at 12pm we will be hosting an online Speaking at Budget Committee Prep Session. After learning the structure of a good deputation, you will have time to write, practice, and get feedback with other speakers.

We will be hosting a deputation training with the Toronto Youth Cabinet (TYC) on Wednesday, January 14 at 6pm. TYC Transit Lead Zain Khurram and community organizer Monica de Vera will be leading our How to Speak at Budget Committee training.

The City's Budget Committee will be hosting public consultations on January 20 and 21 that directly inform the Mayor’s proposed budget. Progress Toronto will provide the support you need to give a great deputation, along with connecting you to a community of other speakers all making their voices heard. Learn more here.
